Students who deferred their acceptance to spring 2023 get priority

    College-me sleeping and enjoying myself in my childhood bedroom is such a testament before my eyes to my growth and development.. I love my room not in a hermit, antisocial way but in a very different, positive way that has me appreciating all my memories, experiences and moments— good and bad. My room has evolved with me in a way.. as I went through habitual changes emotionally as one does, my room has always reflected such change(s). Looking at all my memorabilia, gifts, clothes, projects, assignments etc from a span of over a decade, I slowly start to feel the ever-avoiding sickly gut feeling which is, to me and for me, nostalgia.
    
    I cannot for the life of me think of nostalgia as others do— a warm, comfortable, homely and bittersweet feeling— I fear that nostalgia evokes an ugly feeling deep within me as I ache to be once was, in a regretful and longing sense rather than an admiring, retrospective sense. I don’t look back to what once was in anger but a more primal hatred of mistakes, tribulations and tears wasted upon my body and mind for those who received the highest honor being hated, for reasons not worth remembering.

    * She cryptically tells him that they will not see each other for a long time, and she thanks him for always supporting her in her times of trouble.

    * Wharton proclaims near the end of Chapter 12 that â€œsomething in time lay dead between [Lily and Selden].â€ Lily also makes a distinction between her old self and her new self. Wharton never explains what exactly Lily means, nor does she explicitly state what lies between Lily and Selden. One possibility is their old love for one another despite their inability to get married. Another possibility is Lilyâ€™s old expectations and aspirations, which she thinks are long dead. Selden knew Lily when she was at her best and on her way up in society; now he sees her at her worst ever. Between them, then, lies Lilyâ€™s old greatness, which has disappeared. Selden is really the only character in the novel who has been with Lily every step of the way, from the first chapter until her death. He has been a casual observer both to society in general and Lilyâ€™s place in it. At the end of the novel, the old, popular, secure Lily still haunts the minds of both of them, and may be what Wharton means by the â€œsomething in time.â€

    For example, for an “Open When You Miss Me” letter, you can include photos of the mess you made in the kitchen or some other pet peeve your loved one has about your behavior. 
    For an “Open When You’re 40” letter, go online and have a photo of yourself aged up to predict what you’ll look like when you’re older. Include the aged-up photo along with your letter. When you open the letter, you can compare your looks to the technologically aged one and feel good that you “beat the odds.”  
    **## Step 5: Remind them they’re loved**
    Whether it’s a happy occasion or a more difficult one, you should wrap up your letter by reminding your recipient how important they are to the people in their life. Just the act of creating an Open When Letter will show your loved one how much they mean to you. But you should also spell it out for them in the letter itself by telling them how loved they truly are.
    **## Step 6: Involve family and friends**
    If the person you’re writing to is far from home, consider asking other family members and friends to write messages, too. Fill them in on the “open when” topic so they know when the recipient will open the letter.

    “If a double-decker bus crashes into us / To die by your side is such a heavenly way to die / And if a 10-ton truck kills the both of us / To die by your side, the pleasure, the privilege is mine.”This is Morrissey’s idea of a love song, and what a grand statement it is. As always, he’s sarcastic, pointed and depressed. But is that a smattering of happiness we catch in his resignation? Frankly, we’d prefer dying in our sleep or in a manner that doesn’t involve a 20,000-pound vehicle. To each his own.3 ‘Panic’
    
    “Hang the DJ, hang the DJ, hang the DJ, hang the DJ.”Of all the cuts on our list of the 10 Best Smiths Lyrics, ‘Panic’ – from a 1986 single – is the one that became a rallying cry for college-rock music fans.     Like so many of the songs on our list of the 10 Best Smiths Lyrics (and so many we had to leave off), ‘How Soon Is Now?’ is stuffed with great lines. But we like the song’s opening one the best.
